DECEMBER PERFORMANCES

posted Sep 26, 2019, 11:20 AM by Kathy Scheel   [ updated Oct 10, 2019, 9:12 AM ]
It's always a highlight of the season to go out and share our harmonies with the community and we have several gigs lined up for December   This page contains the things you'll need to know about each performance (where, when, what makeup and clothing to wear, what we're singing, and more).  If you have any questions, let Kathy.Scheel@oregonspirit.org or Diane.Watson@oregonspirit.org know.  OSC always wants to present the very best barbershop sound to our audiences, so if you are signed up, we expect your to be there.  We accepted each of these opportunities based on the number of singers available, ensuring a good balance of parts, so let Kathy know if you find that you cannot make it to a performance in order for her to make adjustments (and also so we don't worry about you if you).

Tuesday, November 12
CCTV - Holiday Greeting
CCTV - 575Trade Street SE - Salem

Parking is VERY limited and difficult to find near CCTV, so meet at the Elks at 4:00 and carpool over to CCTV studio together. We will have just a very brief time to warm up at the studio, so do some bubbling & sirens before you get there so you are vocally ready to sing. We will go into the studio at 4:30 to video Happy Holiday - should be done by 5;00.

WHAT TO WEAR:

Makeup:  Two shades darker than your normal foundation, bright cheeks, true red lipstick, brown toned eyeshadow, eyeliner, and brows.  This is known as "heavy street makeup" and everyone is responsible for her own; however, we will have a couple of people check makeup to be sure we're all beautiful.  If someone asks you to put a little more lipstick or blusher on, please know that it's because we want to present a unit appearance.

Clothing:  Your own combinations of black and silver, with rhinestone earrings. Many of us have found lovely outfits at Goodwill or Salvation Army, so you don't need to spend a lot of money.  Black slacks or long dresses are preferred (for unified look) and lots of silver rhinestones and bling.  Your outfit will need to be checked by costume chairs in late October, so start looking for something beautiful now.  Make arrangements to meet with them before rehearsal. Their emails are:  linda.o'donnell@oregonspirit.org   or   cindy.meyers@oregonspirit.org

Tuesday, December 17
Capitol Rotunda
900 Court Street NE - Salem
Parking is always a challenge downtown, so you will need to allow extra time to find a parking place, and I also recommend carpooling for our full day together!

After we perform at the rotunda, we're hoping to go up to the Woodburn Outlet Mall and sing from about 1:30-3:30.  Also, we can hand out cards to tell about our open house in January, do some shopping, and just have fun together sharing our music. It is all covered, but not closed so be prepared if the temperature is cold. Bring warm coats and the bright colored scarves that you wore on the SenateAires show because it may be a bit cold at the outlet mall.

After we sing for the shoppers, we will go to the LaHacienda Real (restaurant) for our Annual Holiday Party from 6:30-8:30.  The address is:  5024 River Road, Keizer.

10:00 - 10:30    Warmups, run through songs
10:30 - 11:00    Performance
