WHAT'S NEXT? SAI CONTEST

posted Sep 27, 2017, 9:09 AM by OregonSpirit
Hi all -  I hope everyone has recovered from last weekend's mega-event.  Whew - I'm just now finally getting back into my regular activities!  The survey is just about ready to send out and we'll need everyone to return it immediately (no later than Sunday evening, Oct 1) so the management team can review it at our meeting next week.  It is being sent in three parts, so you'll get 3 separate emails to get feedback regarding:  Workshop/Show, Visioning, Summer Planning.

The next big thing on the calendar is the Sweet Adelines International Competition the week of October 9-14 and features the winners from every Region in our organization.  For those of you who have never witnessed the int'l contest, it's incredibly inspiring and educational and I encourage everyone to make plans to watch at least part of the contest (see schedule below).  You'll see choruses of all sizes and styles, get ideas for songs, costumes, choreography, and more!

Oregon Spirit was in the Harmony Classic contest in 2015 - hard to believe it was just 2 years ago - and many of you remember that amazing and thrilling experience!  I sure hope someone in OSC is setting up a webcast party so all of you can watch the contest together and share your observations!  Make it a combo social/educational event!  It's on Tuesday night, Oct 10, and can be done there at the Elks but just need someone to set it up.  Please volunteer(or see if one of your kids can help), and let Elaine know.

Here's the schedule for the international competition week:

These contests are the culmination of months of preparation by the highest level of choruses and quartets in our organization.  It's wonderful that we all have the opportunity to view them "live" as they present their incredible performance packages on the big stage in Las Vegas.  Have fun viewing the contests together!
