What an exciting time we're going to have this weekend with the stupendous coaching of TORI POSTMA.  She is well-known for her creativity and wonderful sense of humor, as well as being a top Showmanship Judge/Coach and we've got her all to ourselves all weekend long!  WOOO-HOO!  What a thrill for OSC!

The schedule is 9:00-5:30 on Saturday (followed by pizza party) and 9:00-2:30 on Sunday.  We need ALL your voices (and bodies) so do whatever you can to be there and learn with the chorus!  Arrive early so you can visit, and get settled in, and be on the risers ready to go at 9:00 sharp.  I'm so happy we're getting the year started with this excellent training!

On Saturday (at 3:00) we'll need to tear down the risers because the Elks has booked a dinner party in the large room.  We'll move into the Nest and will continue our coaching session there.

Do some vocal warmups on the way to the sessions in the morning (sirens, bubbles) so we can achieve unit sound as quickly as possible.

Wear comfy clothes and shoes cuz we'll be doing a lot of choreography. Wear your NAME BADGE, too, so Tori will know your name.  Also, each section should wear shirts of the following colors:
  •         Tenors:        Yellow
  •          Leads:        Red
  •         Baritones:   Green
  •         Basses:       Blue
Make time to study the choreography video that was sent to you a couple of weeks ago.  Wouldn't it be great if everyone could be ready to PERFORM - singing + choreography - so Tori can see what the general plan is and then she can tweak it from there.  Get out the scarves and the signs, too.  You're all doing such a great job at learning he visual plan, but it'll be ever-more-solid if you' rehearse it about 2-3 times each day and you'll be amazed at how quickly your "muscle memory" learns what moves go with what lyrics, and then you can add the characterization! That's when the song moves to a new level and the magical fun happens!

We have a 1-hour lunch break both days, so you can either bring a lunch or go down the street, but be sure to monitor the time.  We want to get every moment of time that we can with Tori.

We'll be videotaping the sessions, so if you missed part of a session, choose personal responsibility to catch up on what you missed.  This allows us all to be "on the same page" as quickly as possible.  Better yet, find a way to be there!  We want you on the risers with us every step of the way on this journey!!

Just 3 more sleeps and then it's TORI TIME!!!
