We had such a great time welcoming 20 guests to the Christmas Chorus this year.   The Christmas season was filled with great opportunities to share our musical harmony with the Salem community - thanks to Elaine Rosenberg for setting all those up for us.  What a great Performance Coordinator!
Now comes another season.... contest season!   Going to contest provides us with feedback from experts in barbershop harmony, letting us know how we're doing on our journey towards musical excellence.  We have consistently improved every year - and that's something I'm very proud of, and hope YOU are proud of that, too!   Your dedication and commitment is what makes this continued improvement happen.
One of the ways we hone our skills is to PERFORM in public!   Annual chorus shows are very important to the growth of the chapter - not only as individuals learning the various roles in putting on a show, but also in membership growth as we share the music with Salem and beyond.  We need each of you to step up and help make the chapter run smoothly.  Some people are doing LOTS of tasks, but some of you are doing nothing except singing on Thursday nights.  I ask you to give just a little more.  Can you help on a show committee?  Can you co-chair the show with someone who has some experience?  Take a look at the list in the newsletter that's going to be issued this week and then go up to Lori McGinty and say YES that you will help.  Then be proactive in your job.   Ask questions, seek information, make things happen - then sit back and enjoy our combined success!
Choose Personal Responsibility for your part in Oregon Spirit Chorus - do more this year.   You will reap the rewards in so many ways.
It's going to be another amazing year ....!!!
Love - Kathy
