THIS WEEK (and beyond)

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday - a nice break from our typical lives - where we prepare special foods, relax with friends and families, honor traditions or even start a few new ones.  I'm anxious to get back to chorus and continue to incredible progress we made with Jim Arns last week.  I trust that each of you has viewed and studied the videos, marked your music, marked the word sheets - something extra that will help you to remember all those little details that made the songs really sparkle and shimmer.

As December begins, we enter the busiest time of OSC's year - lots of performances!!  We'll be going thru the whole performance package this Thursday and I'm sure our guests are excited about finally getting to sing the songs in public.  Our first performance in the wonderful acoustics of the Capitol Rotunda.  It's one of my favorite places to sing - a group of 10 sounds like 100 - so you can imagine how glorious it will be with about 40 of us!

One of the biggest fundraisers for the year is our annual holiday show, so please do your part in marketing it - send out the poster to everyone on your email list, share it with your facebook friends, print it up and post it on the bulletin board at work, tape it to the back left window of your car so people in parking lots can see it.  The tickets will be distributed this week and it's hoped that each member can sell a few.

After our Christmas shows are over, we will get back to our "normal" routine - and will be rehearsing on Thursday, December 29th.  Also be sure to check the OSC calendar for the schedule  in Jan-Feb-Mar as we head into contest season.  We've got some Saturday sessions that are important for working on new songs, choreography, staging, and other training.  Also starting in January, our musical leaders will be presenting barbershop craft classes for the first 15 minutes of every rehearsal, so plan ahead to be there on time so you don't miss those!

I'm sure looking forward to seeing & hearing everyone again this Thursday!

Love - Kathy
