The chorus management team (CMT) had a mid-year meeting on Saturday (at Tammy Roberson's lovely home) and talked about some very important topics.  But most importantly, we talked about what we admire about each other, what we have done well for the first 6 months of our fiscal year, and what we hope to improve upon in the coming 6 months.  We each have unique strengths and skills and we frequently approach things in very different ways, but we all have the chorus health and happiness in our hearts.  As the administrative leaders, our main goal is to make sure the "business" of the chorus is moving forward efficiently, so the music can continue to ring!

Your Team Leader, Lori McGinty, will be sharing more of our discussions with you soon, and everyone in the chorus will be making some decisions together in early January.  On January 10-11 Dede Nibler (our favorite coach and my mentor) will present a class to us related to her personal experiences of going to Harmony Classic.  We are so very lucky to have her to help us through this monumental year in our chorus life!

One of the points that every member of the CMT agreed on is the high priority of having FUN each time we get together: rehearsals, performances, retreats, and everything.  I am just one person and you know how I love to laugh and have a good time, but I would like to see some of YOU very creative women take charge of this, so I invite you to come up with a 5-10 minute activity each week.  Put your heads together, choose a person to coordinate your activities, and just let me know who's doing it each week so I can communicate about the schedule. It can be a game, a silly act, a song, a video, or whatever you can dream up.

I do have an idea I'd like to implement starting in January.  Can someone bring a big jar (or some kind of cute container) to chorus each week:  Each week, we'll fill it with notes about good things that happen and then at the end of the year, we'll empty it and read about all the awesome stuff that happened to us all year long.

Have a great week - be happy - be safe - be thankful for having music and OSC in your life!

Love - Kathy
