6:00 - 6:25 -  Evaluations for those who missed last Tuesday (if you didn't send a recording to your section leader already)
6:30 - 9:30 -  Coaching with Ryan Heller

In addition to the two contest songs, we will work briefly on Sweet Dreams so we can get a good recording of it in order for the Choreography Team to work on a new visual plan.  Ryan knows the song very well because his chorus (Pride of Portland) also does it.  To prepare for this session, work on transferring all your new skills into Sweet Dreams (and all the other songs in our repertoire)!  Record yourself - you'll be empowered to find and correct any mistakes that may have morphed into the song and you'll be delighted at the progress you're making!

When I attended the wonderful class presented by Ronnige' Show Chorus last October, they talked a lot about each member taking personal responsibility for everything that happens in the chorus.  Here are some of my notes from that class:

  • Practice your best every time - never settle for less.
  • Believe you can do it - then do the work.
  • A+ behavior at all times - believing, singing, interactions with each other and director, promptness
  • Live the core values
  • Set high expectations for yourself at every rehearsal, every session (meetings)
  • Active mental focus - be here and now!
  • This is an overtone sport - sing above the pitch and do everything you can to help create the overtones.
  • Be stubborn with yourself - get it perfect.

Let's be like a mini-Ronnige!!  YEAH!
