It's the first day of 2018 and I think many of you will agree that 2017 went by way too fast!  We had a busy and productive year, and I'm sure looking forward to seeing what the coming years brings to us - as individuals and as a chorus family.
  • Elaine Rosenberg, Team Leader, will be facilitating a group discussion of goals/accountability so that everyone is aligned and moving in the same direction together. Onward and upward!
  • We've got an exciting lineup of international-level coaches to help us continue to learn/grow as musicians.
    • Tori Postma - Showmanship Judge, Jan 20-21
    • Sandy Marron - Sound Judge - Feb 17-18
    • Lea Beverly - Expression Judge - Mar 10-11
    • Ryan Heller - Overall Barbershop Coach Extraordinaire - Feb 6, Mar 6, Apr 3
  • We've got new members visiting and joining the chorus! Encourage them, meet them, love them, help them, include them.  They are part of the future of OSC.
  • We'll be doing two group voice lessons (members/guests are all welcome to attend) - Jan 9 and 16.
  • We're getting ready for a performance in Albany on Feb 2.
  • We'll be working on an upgraded visual plan for Who's Sorry Now (video & cues were sent to everyone a couple of weeks ago).  If you want to be a part of the Choreography Team, we'd love to have you!
  • We're planning an amazing overnight Advance Weekend in Canby on March 10-11.  Lea Beverly will be coaching us!
  • We'll be competing in the Regional Competition and striving to improve our scores (525 points in 2017) in Reno on May 5th.
  • We're doing Valegrams as an awesome musical fundraiser on Feb 14.  Can't wait to hear all the groups sing!
  • We'll be talking about the summer schedule (possibly taking some time away from regular rehearsals).
  • We'll be taking our annual beach trip (that was cancelled in 2017 due to workshop busy-ness) - options are either the weekend of Aug 19 or Aug 25. Eileen Kemp will be coordinating this.
  • We'll likely be doing another youth harmony workshop, tentatively scheduled for October 13th.
  • We'll continue to bring joy to each gathering - keeping laughter and love as a core strength of our group!
For the February 2nd performance, we haven't heard from everyone yet, so be sure you've responded to Diane Watson's emails about performing.  The songs we'll be singing are:
  • SWEET DREAMS - possibly new choreography
  • and maybe ....WHO'S SORRY NOW.....or possibly SOMEBODY TO LOVE...will decide soon.
    • Who's Sorry Now - may not be appropriate for this particular client
    • Somebody to Love - need to know who is singing, concerned about balance

Let's work together to make our Tuesday nights a very special place where JOY is the central theme.   As we start the new year, I am renewing my commitment to creating fun, educational, motivated, enriching rehearsals!

Love to all -  Kathy
