Attached is the 2018 ADVANCE booklet which contains the schedule, packing list, and expectations.  Thanks to Lynne Rice for chairing this event and for all the rest of you who helped in some way!

I've schedule some time on Sunday afternoon to work on our visual plan (choreography) so pack your teal tunics and put them on as soon as you're done eating lunch that day (Lea will be leaving after lunch).  We will get the visual plan solidified and a new video made for everyone to study.

We'll also be talking about the chorus trip, so be sure to read the information I sent a few days ago.  I'm sure there are lots of questions, and if I don't have the answers right now, I'll write them down and get them for you.

We're going to be working, playing, laughing, and loving all weekend.  Lea Beverley is a wonderful coach, and as an Expression Judge, she will bring us the skills needed for that category.  Here is a comparison of the skills than an Expression Judge looks for in a B level vs a B+ level performance.  Can you spot the differences?

B level performance (66-73 points)
  • Consistently good vocal skills
  • Good dynamic plan, needs consistent vocal energy
  • Most vowels well matched, some consonant interference
  • Fleeting glimpses of artistry/finesse
  • Minor errors in internal sync
  • Inconsistent unit involvement in message
B+ level performance (74-79 points)
  • Vocal skills generally well established
  • Dynamic plan well designed and executed
  • Some problems with alignment of vowels
  • Greater artistry & finesse in delivery of message
  • Occasional minor flaws in unit
  • Genuine involvement, consistent musical energy
